GeekTips: Timers

Can you really manage time? I think all we can do is manage how we interact with it.

Have you ever decided to sit down to answer an email, and then all of a sudden, you're reading a friend's Facebook update, which leads you to a recent post on Facebook which leads you to a YouTube video which leads you to...I don't even know where the whole morning went.

You need... a Timer! I don't mind if you use this online kind, or this low-tech kind or even this rather elegant kind... when you sit down to answer emails, set it for 15 or 30 minutes and when it goes off, get up and get back to your studio!

In future installments, we'll look at email settings and filters, apps, tools and strategies to help keep that inbox uncluttered.

I'm moving GeekTips over to my Artist Geek site starting Feb 3, 2012

GeekTips: ArtDates - for WNC artists

Watch this space for GeekTips, starting here on Fridays in early 2012. It's a mix of high tech and low tech tips to help you run your art business.

In the meantime, find out more about my new service for Western North Carolina artists called ArtDates. A online calendar and resource page along with an actual calendar book you can carry with you (see, there's that high tech/low tech concept in action)

  1. As a calendar
  2. To make notes and lists
