Walking to work

Have you ever really stopped to look at a light bulb? or a strawberry? I taught a free workshop a week ago as part of the CLICK Project at the Conn-Artist Art Studios & Gallery in Hendersonville. I had the participants choose an object (in brown bags, so they didn't know what they were getting) and then go look at and photograph it.
Jean said she kinda hated it when she got a floodlight bulb as her object, but then really enjoyed what happened once she took some time with it.
It's a lesson we can all pay attention to... take some time out to stop and look!

...a little idea I have brewing? Stay tuned
Well. I forgot to publicize a new Stopping to Look workshop I am giving as part of the Click! Photo Project at The Conn-Artist Art Studios & Gallery in Hendersonville NC. And it is already filled!
If you'd like to make sure you don't miss the next one, be sure to hop over to the Click Photo Workshop page and get your name on the waiting list (scroll down to my April 15 Workshop and fill out the form)
I took a walk through the River Arts District the other day, just looking for Greens. It's spring, and tomorrow is St Paddy's Day. Check out my slideshow over on the River Arts District Artist's blog to see some selected greens from the hood, and an avacodo avacado avocado.
The show runs throughout March at Desert Moon Designs Studios & Gallery at 372 Depot Street. (it's just down the block and across the street from my studio), and benefits Asheville GreenWorks (my landlord!)
I'm not really trying this myself (maybe I should?), but I'm excited that my panoramic photo composite of Bike Racers in the River Arts District was juried into the National Bike Art Show at the Dairy Center for the Arts in Boulder CO - March 9-31

Fellow River Arts District photographer David Simchock stopped by my studio the other day with a card for his fab new photography blog: got f-stop. I know I'll be checking it out regularly, but the cows were confused.
Opening February 14 in Hendersonville NC. 14 Phototgraphers (including me)
Collard greens and black-eyed peas. What else can we do to ensure good luck in 2012?
